Mrs. Paramita Tripathi

Ambassador-designate of India to the State of Kuwait

Mrs. Paramita Tripathi joined as Ambassador of India to the State of Kuwait on 10 November 2025.

Mrs. Tripathi joined the Indian Foreign Service in 2001.

Prior to taking up her charge as Ambassador of India in Kuwait, she was in the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi since August 2021, serving as Joint Secretary in charge of Oceania Division as well as additional charge of the Indo-Pacific Division from October 2023 to March 2025.

During her earlier stints in New Delhi, Mrs Tripathi has held diverse portfolios in the Ministry of External Affairs, including in the East Asia, United Nations Economic & Social (UNES) and Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran (PAI) Divisions.

Her diplomatic postings include assignments in Berlin, New York, Singapore, Tokyo and Brussels.

Mrs. Tripathi completed her studies in Kolkata from the Presidency College, the Lady Brabourne College and South Point School. She holds a degree of Masters of Arts in Geography from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

Mrs. Tripathi is fluent in Bengali, English, and Hindi, and can speak basic French.

Mrs. Tripathi is married to Dr. Pradyumn Tripathi, a civil servant. They have one son and one daughter.
